Eligibility and Cost
Eligibility
In order to receive services from SER, you must meet BOTH age and residence requirements.
1. Are over 50 years of age, and;
2. Live in one of the following counties or cities:
(a) Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax County or City, or the City of Falls Church, Virginia; OR
(b) Are career U.S. Military or Federal civilian retirees and live in one of the counties/cities listed above or in Loudoun or Prince William County, Virginia; the District of Columbia, or Calvert, Charles, Montgomery or Prince Georges County, Maryland.
Cost
The cost of your initial registration is $25. This entittles you to use SER's services for 90 days. This includes your initial consultation with a job counselor, review of your resume, attending SER's seminars, and access to jobs posted on SER's JobLine.
The initial registration fee is WAIVED for: (1) residents of Fairfax County; and, (2) career Federal civilian and military retirees living anywhere in SER's service area.
All client who wish to continue their registration beyond the initial 90-days period may do so by paying a $20 renewal fee for each additional 90-day period, up to two years.
