Eligibility for SER Services
Job Seekers
SER is authorized to serve only individual job-seekers who meet either the criteria listed under A or B, below. If you don't meet one of these sets of criteria, SER cannot provide services to you. If you have questions about your eligibility for SER services, please call us at (703) 750-1936.
A. (1) Are 50 years of age or older; and, (2) live in one of the following Virginia counties or cities: Fairfax County; Arlington County; the City of Alexandria; Fairfax City; or, the City of Falls Church. (You must meet both of these criteria.)

B. (1) Are 50 years of age or older; (2) are retired from the U.S. military or Federal civilian service; and, (3) live either in one of the Virginia counties/cities listed above or in Prince William or Loudoun County, Virginia; the District of Columbia; or, Calvert, Charles, Montgomery, or Prince Georges County, Maryland. (You must meet all three of these criteria.)
NOTE: SER chareges a $25 initial registration fee. This fee provides access to SER services for 90 days. This initial fee is waived for residents of Fairfax County and career Federal civilian and military retirees, regardless of residence within our service area. If you wish to continue using SER's services beyond the initial 90-day period, there is a $20 renewal fee for each additional 90-day period. The renewal fee applies to all SER clients.
Employers
SER provides services to employers in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Under some circumstances, such as work-from-home employment, SER may extend its services to employers outside the metropolitan area.
